About Us

In 2008, after many years of seeing my mother’s face in books, magazines, on TV and more often on T shirts, I wanted to find a way to celebrate the inspiration and influence she has had on so many people with her individual style, while at the same time addressing the fact that she was never compensated for the use of the now famous image. Having been inspired by the pop art movement of the 1950's which saw a variety of artists using screen-printing in exciting and striking new ways I decided to create the first official line of Soo Catwoman shirts.

After being withdrawn from the conventional education system and educated at home by my mother, she was a constant source of inspiration to me, encouraging me to develop my creative skills and think ‘outside the box’. My time was spent writing poetry and stories, drawing and painting. All forms of art became my labour of love, and designing and printing T-shirts seemed like an obvious outlet for my skills. I wanted to celebrate the style, beauty, bravery and individualism that Soo Catwoman has become known for, due to her uncompromising image in the late 70s. This image had rarely paid her any dues, nor at times even had the decency to mention her name in connection with her face. My first creations were made with this in mind, and included the Soo Catwoman moniker. By designing, hand printing and selling these T-shirts over the past couple of years the project has taken on a life of its own, with my shirts finding their way to all corners of the globe. Each and every T-shirt is hand-printed by me, and the ones in my store are the only official Soo Catwoman products available anywhere.

As we are a very close family, I have now decided (with the blessing of my mother) to incorporate everything we do under the collective banner of ‘Dotty Rebel’. Not only will we be selling the official Soo Catwoman items, but also included in the store will be Good Weather Girl items. Good Weather Girl is the band I am in with my brother Shem and you can check us out on our YouTube channel goodweathergirlmusic or our website www.wearegoodweathergirl.com. You can also 'like' us on Facebook, add us on MySpace and find us on Last fm, Spotify and Pure Volume, as well as on iTunes.

I am constantly working on new ideas and will be adding new products to the Dotty Rebel line, so I hope you will come back often to see what’s on offer. Also, don't by shy – we love hearing from you and your emails always inspire us and make us smile, so don't be afraid to get in touch with any special orders – it doesn't hurt to ask ;).
